I am a married man with two kids and an extremely proud Yorkshireman.
I grew up in this area, played sport for local teams, my kids go to local schools, and my business is local.
My own businesses are local and I have experienced many of the issues facing many in our community right now where we have hard choices facing us as costs at work and home grow at a rate that our income cannot meet. The economic, social and mental health issues which people face as a result of the Covid crisis are now being made worse by policies supported by politicians who don't understand the lives of ordinary people.
I chose to stand for Reform UK as I care about the area, I care about the people here, and I want my kids to grow up in a world where they have opportunities. I feel Reform UK offers a real alternative to the two mainstream parties.
I don’t believe most MPs really care which side they are on or what they represent, they care about keeping a seat and keeping a job funded by the same hard working taxpayers who have been hit the hardest by the policies of the people whose wages they pay.
I couldn't just sit at home listening to politicians pretending to truly understand the hardships facing many of us just to keep our homes warm, fridges full, or have enough fuel in our cars to get to work. We need a common-sense approach and a true understanding of what really matters to the people of Wakefield.
I genuinely care, and whilst I cannot profess to have all of the answers, what I do know is giving your vote to the same people who put us in this mess isn’t going to help get us out of this mess. It's now time for Reform.
